Losing a loved one is never easy. I recently lost my dad and my entire world came to a screeching halt. Nothing and no one outside of my immediate family mattered and I completely shut down and shut the world out for weeks. Homeschooling made that possible and for that, I am forever grateful. Silence and solitude is what I needed to be able to process the loss and while I am still grieving, I have learned a few things that I'd like to share:

1. You can take breaks (as many as you need)

2. The schoolwork will be there. Be present in the moment.

3. Your kids are not "falling behind".

4. You don't have to do it all on your own. Accept the help that is offered.

5. Investing in Bluetooth headphones is a great idea! 

6. Use self-correcting apps and resources that encourage your child(ren) to work and learn independently.

Grief looks and feels different for everyone, so if this post doesn't resonate with you, that's ok. But if it does, know that you're not alone in how you feel, and that you can press pause for a while in order to give yourself time to adjust to this  change.
